Accessibility to public transport

Nottingham City Transport (NCT) recognises that accessibility to bus services and information about our services is very important to all passengers and that our passengers have different needs and preferences.

NCT is committed to improving accessibility for passengers, in partnership with local and national agencies, across all of our business, ranging from continued purchases of new low floor buses, to stop improvements and continuing to develop timetables and information in alternative formats.

We provide alternative format timetables, on request, in Braille, large print and electronically. Contact us (details below) about what you need and we will arrange it for you.

Our web and APP developers have a good understanding of W3C Accessibility guidelines and Wordpress (the system the site is built in) features several tools for ensuring the content created is accessible. This site is currently compliant with W3C priority 1 guidelines and it has been built with these standards in mind and includes several features designed to make it more accessible to visually impaired users, including ‘alt’ tag functionality that is useful for supporting screen reader technology.
