Nottingham City Transport is today celebrating after being shortlisted for 2 UK Bus Awards. The UK Bus Awards scheme is an annual recognition and rewarding of success and good practice in the bus industry.
NCT has been short-listed in the “City Operator of the Year” and “Marketing Campaign of the Year” categories. NCT first entered the UK Bus Awards in 2002 and the Company’s short-listing again this year marks seven consecutive years of recognition within the UK Bus Awards scheme.
Mark Fowles, NCT Managing Director celebrated the news announcing, “We are absolutely delighted to have been short-listed for two prestigious awards, particularly the City Operator of the Year Award. It is clear that the hard work, effort and determination of everybody at NCT to deliver a reliable, safe and friendly network has been recognised by the UK Bus Awards judging panel and we’ll keep our fingers crossed that we’re bringing home the trophy in November.”
As a short-listed entrant in the “City Operator of the Year” category, Nottingham City Transport is also automatically entered into the UK Bus Operator of the Year category. NCT were previously crowned UK Bus Operator of the Year in 2004.
John Owen, UK Bus Awards Chairman stated that, “2009 is the 14th year of the awards and we’re delighted with the volume and quality of the entries we’ve received – especially in the current economic climate. Not only have we set a new record for the number of entries, but we also have a much wider spread, particularly from small and medium sized operators”.
The winners will be announced at the 2009 Awards Ceremony, taking place at the London Hilton Hotel on 12 November 2009.
