The Nottingham City Council Citycard and the Nottingham City Transport (NCT) Easyrider card have merged to create one new card. Card holders can now benefit from even more benefits.
The new card will be launched at the Big Wheel’s Big Day Out at the Castle on Saturday 26 September. The Big Day Out is a festival celebrating public transport in Nottingham.
The new Easyrider Citycard will continue to give all the benefits of the existing cards plus many others including:
There are four Easyrider Citycards, one for every age group and travel requirement. Each card offers the same great retail, library and leisure discounts and they are free for everyone. The new Easyrider Citycard Savings Directory gives details of all retail, leisure and travel offers for Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County residents.
Cllr Jane Urquhart (Nottingham City Council’s portfolio holder for Transport & Area Working) says: “With the new Easyrider Citycard residents can make full use of the ‘Nottingham offer’; great shopping, a huge choice of restaurants and other leisure facilities which are all accessible by one of the best integrated public transport networks in the country. The cards are available to those who live in the city and the county. But, as part of our “we’re on your side” campaign, we’re delighted to give our own city residents even more offers.”
Nicola Tidy (Marketing Director for NCT) said: “The NCT travel smartcard has been available since 2000, providing discounted travel on buses and trams for our customers. NCT is delighted to merge this scheme with the council’s Citycard to give our passengers even more opportunities to make savings across the city.”
By the end of the year 140,000 new style Easyrider Citycards will have been replaced and will be in use, providing Nottingham residents with fantastic discounts and savings.
The new card is available from the NCT Travel Centre in the Old Market Square or can be downloaded from www.easyridercitycard.co.uk or call the NCT information centre on 0115 950 6070
