To celebrate the 5th birthday of the Nottingham Skylink service to East Midlands Airport, one lucky passenger will win a pair of return flight tickets to Knock, Ireland, courtesy of Ryanair!
For a chance to win, all you have to do is travel on the 12:05 service departing from Friar Lane in Nottingham City Centre on Tuesday 5 May – Skylink’s Birthday!
Since its launch in May 2004, the Nottingham Skylink has carried 1,901,275 passengers. In the first year 113,000 passengers used the service, compared to 553,000 passengers in the fifth year – an impressive 389% increase.
Kelly McHugh, Skylink’s Marketing Manager, said, “The Nottingham Skylink started as a trial project and has developed into a flagship service that meets the needs of our passengers – operating 24/7 and providing a cheaper and greener option for travelling to the Airport. The service has been developed through a partnership including the Airport, Nottingham City Council, and East Midlands Development Agency and through hard work and determination, the service has gone from strength to strength, each year exceeding passenger target levels. Many thanks to everyone involved and Happy Birthday Skylink!”
Dave Astill Commercial Manager for NCT stated “The Skylink concept was developed over 5 years ago and we are delighted at its success. It now forms part of our integrated city network of buses for Nottingham, linking the airport with the city and other communities on route. It has become a blue print for other Skylink sevices from EMA to other destinations around the airport and the brand “Skylink” is now well know and established across the East Midlands” He continued “We look forward to another five years of expansion and development of Nottingham Skylink to make the airport even more accessible to Nottingham residents”
Nottingham Skylink operates half hourly between Friar Lane and East Midlands Airport, 24 hours 7 days a week.
