The Caribbean Carnival - Free Fun This WeekendNew look 48 bus

Experience the sights and sounds of the Caribbean as Nottingham Caribbean Carnival comes to town, 12noon - 10pm at the Forest Recreation Ground this weekend, 4th and 5th July.

The Nottingham Caribbean Carnival is one of Nottingham's most spectacular and colourful events with two days of FREE family entertainment for all to enjoy and getting their is easy – thanks to the fast and frequent bus and tram services passing by – see below.

Watch as the famous full carnival parade with hundreds of performers, winds its way through the city centre streets and down to the Forest, or wait for its arrival in the heart of the carnival as you enjoy feast of Caribbean cuisine and music.

There’s fun for all the family with local, national and international performers on the Carnival Main Music Stage, reggae, live bands and drumming in the African Music Tent and fun for all the family with a Funfair, stalls, arts & crafts, food, licensed bars, children's entertainment including face painting, stilt walkers and Mendhi. A Creche is available on site.

To get the Forest Recreation Ground, simply:

· hop on the tram and alight at The Forest – trams run up to every 5 minutes on Saturday daytime and up to every 7 minutes on Sunday daytime

· board any Lime line 56, 58, 59 or Purple line 87, 88, 89 bus from Parliament Street in the City Centre and alight at the Forest Gate stop – buses run up to every 3 or 4 minutes on Saturday daytime and up to every 7-10 minutes Sunday daytime

For families travelling to the Carnival, the best ticket to buy is Group Rider, which at just £6 covers up to 5 people (max 2 adults) for unlimited bus and tram journeys on the NCT and NET network for the day. Available from the driver on the day, that works out at just £1.10 per person!!

Nottingham Caribbean Carnival is brought to you by Tuntum Housing Association in association with Nottingham City Council and local partnership agencies giving you an extensive weekend of celebratory activities and events.
