Local School Children Design NCT Anti Littering Poster

This year Nottingham City Transport (NCT) staff have been working with local schools trying to reduce the amount of anti-social littering on vehicles. Whilst much of this is caused by adults, school children usually on their way home also cause problems.

NCT have asked school children to design posters to try and encourage everyone to take their rubbish with them and 'bin it’! Two schools entered this event with over 50 entries which were of a very high standard.

The NCT SafeMark team selected 1 winner & 1 highly commended runner up from each school as well as an overall winner, these pictures are be featured on the NCT website.

The winners received their awards at the Respect for Transport SafeMark Awards Ceremony at the Council House yesterday, they were:

These awards were made in recognition of the excellent co-operation between NCT, NET and the schools themselves, to ensure safe and respectful transport of pupils to and from school, and presented by Councillor Jane Urquart.

The SafeMark scheme is supported by the Respect for Transport campaign, which aims to reduce actual and perceived levels of crime and anti-social behaviour on Nottingham’s buses and trams.
