Getting to Goose Fair 2009Goose Fair

The world famous Goose Fair returns to enjoy its 715th visit to Nottingham. The fair opens at 17:30 on Wednesday 30th September for four days, with over 500 attractions - from the latest white knuckle rides for thrill seekers to the ever-popular family, children’s and old-time rides.

Goose Fair is one of Europe’s largest travelling fairs with a history that dates back more than 700 years. Amongst the array of more traditional fairground rides, including the Carousel, Dodgems, Roller Coasters, Giant Wheels, Twists and Waltzers, there will also be a number of new attractions that have not visited Nottingham before.

New to the UK this year and at present the only one in the country, the ‘Rock Rage’ Inversion is the successor of the popular Freak Out ride. The seated riders are connected to a large boom that swings back and forth, gaining momentum to complete a full 360 degree loop. The StarFlyer is the newest sensation in the world of tower rides and will make its Goose Fair debut on next Wednesday. This ride is similar to a flying chairs ride, except with one difference – height! Its spins around but also races up to a height of 38 metres as it is spinning, making it one of the tallest rides at the fair.

Alongside the fairground attractions, visitors are also able to enjoy, gift, food and novelty stalls and the numerous side shows that are on offer, including Nottingham's own specialty, mushy peas and mint sauce, and of course the world famous Cocks-on-Sticks. With old favourites, new attractions, and the unmistakable Goose Fair atmosphere, come and explore for yourself!

Opening Times for the Fair are:

Wednesday 30 September 17:30 – 23:00

Thursday 1 October 12:00 – 23:00

Friday 2 October 11:00 – 23:30

Saturday 3 October 11:00 – 23:00
