New Royal Ticket Launched - £1 Return Travel to the Theatre

Leave your car at home and use the bus or tram to travel to the Theatre Royal or Concert Hall with a £1 Royal Ticket.

Nottingham’s theatre-goers now have even more affordable travel choices available when they come into the city centre to see a show.

The Royal Centre, Nottingham City Transport and the trams (Nottingham Express Transit) have teamed up to offer a return tram or bus ticket for just £1 per person to all customers booking tickets for events at the Theatre Royal or the Royal Concert Hall.

The special £1 Royal Tickets can be purchased from the box office at the same time as theatre tickets and are valid on all Nottingham City Transport buses within the Greater Nottingham City Area* and from all tram stops, from Hucknall and Phoenix Park right through to Station Street.

Tickets are valid for one inward and one outward journey until the last bus or tram at midnight.

Helen Battersby, the Royal Centre’s Corporate Relations Manager said “We are delighted to be able to offer our customers such a reasonably priced and flexible alternative to using their cars. It should make journeys into the city easier and help to reduce the cost of an evening out at the theatre. As the scheme is available across the whole bus and tram network, people from all areas of the city can take advantage of it.”

Anthony Carver Smith, NCT Marketing Manager said “With the Royal Centres nearest car park charging £4.20 for an evening’s parking, The Royal Ticket offers excellent value for money for people coming to see a show. With our buses and trams running regularly in the evenings and with last departures at midnight, it makes sense to leave the car at home and take the bus or tram.”

The £1 Royal Tickets can be booked in person at the Royal Centre box office in the Royal Concert Hall foyer on South Sherwood Street or by telephone on 0115 989 5555. At present, this offer is not available when booking online, but travel tickets can be added to existing bookings by calling the box office.

£1 Royal Tickets can be purchased from Monday 2nd November. Customers who have already purchased tickets for forthcoming shows and would like to add a Royal Ticket to their booking can contact the Box Office.
