NCT Timetable Changes – More Buses Introduced

Nottingham City Transport will be introducing extra buses on bus routes 1, 4, 71 and L53 from Monday 11th January 2010 to meet growing customer demand.
These buses will support existing services by providing extra capacity for increasing numbers of students using public transport to get to school or university.

  • The One will have an extra journey on schooldays from Clifton Pastures at 08:00 to Harry Carlton School (Grounds), arriving at 08:15
  • On Unilink 4 the existing 08:00 from NTU City Campus towards Clifton will depart 5 minutes earlier and an extra journey will run at 08:05
  • Yellow Line 71 will have an extra bus running on schooldays from Cinderhill at 07:54 to Bewcastle Road (Muirfield Road) arriving at 08:16 (showing 71B)
  • On Local Link L53, three journeys will be duplicated: The 07:42 from Clifton to Q.M.C on Mondays to Fridays.
On school days only, the 07:30 from Arnold will be duplicated between Valley Road/Mansfield Road and the Q.M.C
On school days only, the 07:45 from Arnold will be duplicated between Valley Road/Mansfield Road and Middleton Boulevard/Jubilee Campus

Commenting on these extra buses, David Astill NCT Commercial Manager said, “With unlimited bus and tram travel available from just 70 pence per day with our popular Easyrider Citycard Under 18 travel card, it’s hardly surprising that so many of the city’s children choose to travel to school and college by bus. We have once again listened to customer feedback and these extra buses will ensure we continue to meet growing demand”.
Some minor route changes will be introduced to Blue Line 40 and Night Bus N36. Buses on Blue Line 40 within the City Hospital Grounds will also be slightly re-routed, with buses using Linden Way, rather than St. Francis Way. Night Bus N36 will be re-routed to operate through University Park Campus, serving North Entrance, Cripps Hill and Beeston Lane before existing through the West Entrance to Beeston. The new route will provide improved access for students within the campus.

NCT bus information is also available at online or by calling 0115 950 60 70.
