Description:
This is a very popular back street local lying in the shadow of the old Shipstone Brewery. The pub is a champion of live music with bands playing Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, an open mic night on Thursday when you can have a go yourself, and jazz on a Sunday lunch. Various collectables adorn the high shelves around the walls, including old beer bottles and cameras, plus brewery mirrors and framed pictures on the walls. The cellar drop has viewing ports so you can see to the bottom. A selection of 20 different malt whiskies is on offer if you fancy something different. Home cooked food is served all week from 12-3pm, and if you are short of time you can order your food online so that it will be ready when you arrive. Outside there is an extensive and spacious garden and also a covered and heated smoking area.
