Description:
Always beautifully bedecked with flower tubs in summer, this quaint old style pub was originally a coach house. This is a three-roomed pub with a central bar, the rear room is windowless with an arched ceiling, raised floor and is suitably quiet, private and comfortably furnished. The main “L” shaped lounge is almost a library, festooned with plenty of books and interesting old pictures and memorabilia to complement the large engraved glass windows. TV is on view, as is the larger one in the main bar. Modern style block paintings and a few risqué pictures adorn the walls. Comfortable settees and chairs are in abundance. There is an excellent heated and covered smoking and drinking area outside, and pleasant beer garden. Hazel and Colin serve delicious food, currently of a tapas style and of excellent value.
