18. Johnson Arms - 59 Abbey Street, Dunkirk NG7 2NZ

Johnson ArmsBus/Tram line: Maroon 13, 14
Bus stop name: QMC Abbey St
Open: Sun-Thu 12–12, Fri-Sat 12-1am (note: the doors close at 11pm)
Beers: Adnams Bitter, Castle Rock Harvest Pale, and four guests; Westons Traditional cider.

Description:
This is a large ex-Shipstones pub; notice the etched windows when you enter. There are plenty of seating areas around the pub, with a raised section to the right of the bar and a smaller room at the back. Behind the pub is a large beer garden, the huge tree providing plenty of shade, and there is a covered drinking/smoking area. Unusually, Petanque can be played. Food is served from 12-2pm and 5pm–8pm: hot and cold rolls, main meals and daily specials. Beer festivals are held four times a year and in June they hold the Johnsonbury music festival. For those who like to listen to something, the pub provides a free jukebox.
