Description:
From the bus stop, walk back down Station Road; turn right at the lights then left down Dovecote Lane. The Victoria is a real gem for real ale drinkers and those who love freshly prepared food. It also caters extremely well to real cider and perry drinkers and has a selection of over 100 whiskies, 30 wines by the glass and continental beers on draught. You will always find a mild on the bar and at least one stout or porter. Noise is strictly kept to conversational (and the occasional passing train from the adjacent Beeston station) as mobile phones are banned. Music adds to the atmosphere between September and May with Jazz on Monday evenings and other music on Sundays. Every July the pub hosts its own ‘Vicfest’ over three weeks where it increases its selection of real ales, music and its wonderful food menu. Further weekend beer festivals are held throughout the year and it hosts its own outdoor theatre in its large smoke-free beer garden which is covered and heated in winter to make room for more drinkers and diners.
