Bus stop name: Lowdham War Memorial
Open: Mon-Sun 11.30-11.30

Description:
To reach it, walk up the bypass from the bus stop and there is a gate on the left leading into the garden. This old pub, building dating back to around 1750, has a pleasant and attractive draw to it. Externally white washed and festooned with a plethora of flower baskets seemingly in bloom throughout the year, it has a large car park with outside seating area for drinking and even eating out on pleasant summer nights. Larger on the inside than it first appears, the bar area is to the right with a cosy open fire, ideal on cold wintery nights. Vintage pictures of the pub adorn the walls along with a very detailed history of the pub’s licensees dating back to around 1750 that was painstakingly researched by a very local regular. The other end serves as the family room and restaurant area. The home-cooked food from the menu plus specials board is very popular (booking recommended) with bar snacks available if desired.
