Nottingham City Transport Limited are recruiting three engineering apprentices to repair and maintain our fleet of buses, with training commencing in September 2010.

Apprentice Coachbuilder
Repair and maintenance of bodywork aspects of buses.
Apprentice PCV Fitter
Repair and maintenance of the engine and other mechanical components of buses
Apprentice Auto-Electrician
Repair and maintenance of the electrical and electronic systems used on buses
Qualifications
Has or hopes to have a minimum of three GCSE passes at grades A to C, including English language, mathematics and science with preferably a technology based subject (or equivalent examination passes or proven relevant practical experience).
Training and Support
Apprentices serve a four year apprenticeship which will include block release attendance at the Tile Hill College in Coventry to obtain relevant vocational qualifications. You will be required to attend block release training in Coventry (accommodation will be arranged for you).
Terms and Conditions of Employment
Salary start at circa £10.5k (£5.28 per hour dependant on national minimum wage) to circa £20k at the end of the programme. 25 days’ annual holiday plus recognised Bank Holidays. The working week is 37 hours, 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8.am to 3.30pm Friday, initially based at our Trent Bridge Garage. The benefits package includes a defined contribution pension scheme and healthcare plan (after a qualifying period) with free travel on NCT local bus services and NET tram services.
