Getting an Easyrider Citycard, how to use it and how to top up

Getting an Easyrider CitycardStack of Easyrider Citycards

...is really easy! All you have to do is pop into the Nottingham City Transport Travel Centre in the Old Market Square (behind the tram stop), complete the application form download one here or pick it up at the Travel Centre), bring along your payment and our staff will do the rest – we even take the photograph for the card!
If you’re applying for an Easyrider Citycard Under 18 or Anytime Under 18 card, you will need to bring some proof of age, such as a birth certificate or passport, to confirm your date of birth which we then keep on file for when you top up in the future.
Our Travel Centre accepts cash and debit/credit cards for transactions over £10, though unfortunately we do not accept cheques, American Express or Electron cards for payment.

How to use your Easyrider Citycard on the bus or tram

Easyrider Citycards can be used on every Nottingham City Transport bus across
Greater Nottingham, including on longer distance services 1, 26, 100 and Skylink to the
following boundary points:

  • 1 Clifton Pastures
  • 26, 100 Carlton-le Willows School/Linden Grove
  • Skylink Clifton, Man of Trent PH

Easyrider Citycard Adult and Under 18 consecutive day travel cards can also be used on the tram, across the complete route.

When you board the bus:

  • Simply place your Easyrider Citycard to the red card reader
  • When you hear the beep and see the green light, your card has been accepted
  • The card reader also shows you how many days are remaining on your card
  • Show your Easyrider Citycard to the driver and then find a seat, sit back and enjoy the journey
  • If you hear several beeps and the red light flashes, there might be a problem with your card and you will need to speak to the driver

On the tram, all you have to do is hand your Easyrider Citycard to the conductor, who will validate your card against their hand-held ticket machine. Remember, Anytime and Anytime Under 18 are not valid on the tram.
